Who are we and what are we all about?
Our primary goal at the Chronic Pain Support Group (CPSG) is to provide a safe Internet environment where
those living in pain can get the support they need. Our message
board and chat
rooms are the primary sources of support. To
learn more about them, click here.
We believe that anyone in pain deserves to be treated with dignity
by friends, family and the medical community without fear of being
seen as malingering or a drug seeker. We believe that support
is a critical component to the treatment of pain. Without
adequate support pain patients soon fall into despair. We
strive to provide support that will give hope for a better tomorrow.
What we are and what we are not:
We
are real people with real health problems who come together to share and
care for and with each other.
We are not medical professionals and our group
does not dispense medical advice. If you are searching for
medical information, please refer to our Resources
page.
Although
our group consists of lay-people, we are quite knowledgable
in treatments for vaious conditions as well as diagnostic tests
appropriate for various health problems and contidions. We
will help our members find information they need to become
an active participant in their health care. We believe
this is key to a healthy relation ship with health care providers.
